Favorite bar in town - if you like music, and Irish pub, or a great bar with real bartenders, Delaney's is for you!

Abby has my vote for worst bartender in town. I've been banned from Delanies for complaining about Abby. You can't complain to the management because she also holds a manager title; like everyone else there. The owner needs to take a more hands-on control or have just one manager. They have lost thousands of dollars in business because of her.

What the newspaper is saying. Worst Bartender

Abby at Delaney?s: Speakeasy, Delaney?s and Saloon are well run and arguably the nicest pubs in Five Points. However, Abby at Delaney?s grabs this year?s Worst Of for ejecting the publisher of this newspaper and Five Points Association director when the pair went in for a pint several weeks ago. This is, of course, three years after our story on more than $100,000 in St. Patty?s Day commissions not going to charity ? which originally created a ban of City Paper and its staff from the restaurant chain. Abby, though, recently clarified that the publisher of this newspaper is ?banned for life.? As long as the management of these fine establishments keeps acting like a...s, they will keep racking up Worst Ofs.

Unfriendliest pub in town. Well, let's just be blunt. This place is crappy. The food is awful and the drinks are way overpriced. What's worst, however, is that this is the unfriendliest pub I have ever been in. The bartenders are often in a sour mood and continually rant and complain about the customers. And they frequently and deliberately chase people away under some weird "banned for life" thing they have going on there. It's so bad that the media is starting to write about it. Geez. I've never known an Irish pub to be so unfriendly and so unpleasant.

Crappy food. This place is not the place to go if you want "irish" food. The fish and chips is really greasy and the sheperds pie is just kinda bland. It is worth going to pint night although finding a table will be a feat. I really love irish car bombs but they charged me like 20 dollars for it...I've been to other bars where Ive ordered a beer and an irish car bomb for under 14 dollars so it was kinda a rip off!

Stay away at all costs. Delaneys has about 5 beers on tap and serves a variety of what they call Irish "pub food," although there's very little real Irish food (only Shepherd's Pie). It's terribly mediocre. Definitely don't go there if you're black or gay or not otherwise fitting into Southern conservative mentality. The staff is generally great, but you have to watch out for one of the bartenders, Mark Siegel, who is apparently off his rocker. He continually fights with customers over the littlest things -- sometimes threatening them with arrest if they don't agree with him -- and berates his wait staff in front of customers. Very unpleasant way to spend the evening and very bizarre. Never have seen anything like it. Stay away at all costs There are plenty of other places in Five Points and around Columbia that are much better.

Good Entertainment but high priced beer. Not good for watching the show and throwing back some cold ones because the beer costs $4.75. The waitress was not friendly and didn't smile once! I ordered the fish & chips and the food came out burnt! It was very oil as well. As once a waiter myself I would never have served someone burnt food. I returned the fish and ordered Chicken Parmasean which was also a joke. Underneath a layer of cheese was 5 small pieces of chicken with bland tasting maramara sauce and a plate of fetticini noodles. Forget the salt, can you pass me the flavor! My friend order his Irish Whiskey Steak medium rare and it came out medium well! Definitely not worth the price. The only good thing was the squash and mashed potatoes. The entertainment that night was good. I'm glad Gracie's is down the street!
