Best Mechanic's Ever!. As the owner of an Orlando Florida film production company, I was, to say the least,,, troubled when my Ford Excursion, loaded down with 4 of our crew, and all of our gear, broke down while coming into Columbia for an event we had been hired to film.

Sadly,,, I had the wrecker service deliver our truck to the wrong mechanic, who, (knowing we were stranded from out of town) proceeded to do nothing with my vehicle for two and a half days and then tried to suggest I let them replace the motor in our truck, because he could not fix it otherwise.

Knowing that I have been taking really good care of this truck and it's motor, I called Whetzel's to see if he would be willing to tackle the broken tool, inside of the head of my truck and Chad informed me that they would give it their best.

So I had the wrecker pick the truck up from the other shop on Sunset and deliver it to Whetzel's and in one day,,, they were DONE.

I have never been happier with a mechanic, than I was with Whetzel's! Not only did they fix the truck in record time, but they were fare with their labor, (in spite of the fact that they knew I was in a tight spot being 500 miles away from home.)

I cannot say enough about these guys, their professionalism, and their phenomenal skills!

Had some problems but owner was FAIR. I was frustrated with Whetzel's but things are looking much brighter! The owner of Whetzel's called me this morning. We have agreed on a fair resolution. I wish I would have known to contact Rob sooner. Rob, from Whetzel's, was fair and professional.

Best shop ever!!. If you ever read a bad review about Whetzel's Automotive DO NOT believe it. Everybody I know uses this shop and would never even think of being ripped off or taken advantage of. They always go above and beyond the call of duty. I have never heard of anyone leaving there with any type of problem that was not immediately taken care of. If you are looking for the best automotive shop in Columbia look no further than Whetzel's.

Very Honest Mechanics. I bought a Land Rover back in Dec. '09 and was told by the dealership that i had work that needed to be done and would cost me $1800. I was told that the work that the dealership suggested was not my problem indeed and was refered to Whetzel's Automotive. The problem was diagnosed and it turnt out to be more than a $1,000 cheaper. Since then I've taken my car there to get my oil changed my hoses replaced and my Heat/Air serviced. Every time the work was done in a timely manner and it wasn't hard on the pockets. If you're looking for a friendly staff with exceptional service then u must try WHETZEL'S AUTOMOTIVE where they get it right the first time...I DID....Even refered it to another Land Rover owner...

WONDERFUL SHOP. EACH TIME I VISIT THEM THEY HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN GREAT CARE OF ME. AFTER TRYING OTHER PLACES NO ONE COMPARES TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Wouldn't take a pony cart to this shop.. After months of trying to get my car fixed correctly, and over $2,000 later, it is running worse than ever. The service people do not call, they do not give written estimates, and the workmanship is shoddy at best. The only reason I gave it one star is because there is nothing lower than that rating. If you do, for some reason end up taking your vehicle to Whetzel's, demand a written estimate before they "diagnose" your problem.

They Take Advantage Of Women. My sister inlaw took her car there, she was told that she needed a complete brake job @ $350.00 new roters and drums. I called them and asked why not turn the roters and drums instead of replacement. Just that phone call made them change the price from $350.00 to $150.00 and I told them that was more like it. If my sister inlaw had not told me to call and ask questions then she would have paid the full amount.

Honest and Great Customer Service. Staff was professional and extremely helpful on a friday afternoon trip from Atlanta to Charleston. They made time for me immediately and made sure I got to my destination.
