Great Place to Meet the Fam.
I often meet my aunt and uncle from the boonies of Winnsboro, SC (not speaking badly; it's a nice little town) at Longhorn. I'm from a small town myself, but you wouldn't know it if we spoke. Anyway, Longhorn is a comfy place for Southerners and non-Southerners alike. You're treated politely, and especially in a college town, you're as likely to get served by a Southern belle as someone from Queens. The atmosphere brings the fam and I together in a place we can put aside our differences and just catch up. Oh, and did I mention the food is great, too?!

National chain rustles up rib eyes, T-bones and fillets in a kid-friendly, Lone Star-inspired setting..
In Short
One of the country's most successful steakhouse empires attracts a casual crowd with huge, reasonably priced steak dinners and a tempered Texan milieu (country music and imposing cattle busts). Wise diners turn off their internal calorie counters, as many menu items arrive fried, covered in cheese, or both. A typically rich meal starts with cheese fries, followed by a blue cheese-crusted fillet. Fried cheesecake ends the night on a note of Texas-sized decadence.
