Worst Mediterranean Food Ever. I am Turkish so I always look for a Mediterranean restaurant in every city I travel to. This was by far the worst. The owner, Nancy was rude. She said I was trying to change her entrees by requesting the labneh be brought out with my veggie entree. Being familiar with the "customer is always wrong policy" at some ethnic restaurants I was not deterred; however, the food was horrible. The hummus tasted like it was prepackaged from the grocery store and doctored up with olive oil and paprika. The baba ganoush did not have a good consistency, again drowned in olive oil. Nor did it have a roasted flavor consistent with good baba ganoush. The pita bread was stale. Try Al Amir. Their food is fresher, better tasting & they act like they appreciate your business, an American business custom I appreciate. To the owners of Elie's, if you are going to have that fresh off the boat attitude with customer service , you should at least back it up with authentic food!
most authentic Mediterranean food in Columbia. I have eaten at Elie's numerous times, both with my husband and with friends and co-workers. It really is the best restaurant that no one has heard of - every time I bring someone there, they just rave about how good the food was! I usually get the Shish Taouk, which is a skewered chicken dish with basmati rice and a salad. I have tried other foods, and have never been disappointed. The building is actually a renovated house, so it's very quaint. My husband has spent a good bit of time in the Mediterranean area and he says Elie's is the closest that he has had stateside! One word for Elie's - GO!
Totally underated. This is one of the most underrated restaurants in columbia. Everything Ive ever had from this place is good. If your going with a group i recommend the Tour of lebanon..they bring out a HUGE platter with a sampling of different med foods like hummus, babaganoush, falafel, basmati rice with a skewer of lamb, and a house salad. They also have a great lemonade and house tea. The servers are always so nice whenever I go there. The only thing I didn't like was you could hear the cook/owner and the waitress yelling at each other in the back! They also have a hookah you can smoke if thats your thing....
Worst experience ever!. This was the first time I decided to go to this restaurant because of all the great reviews I read. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant of any kind. The appetizer was cold when I bit into it, even the second time they brought it (it was supposed to be a fried meatball). When the main entree came, I found a hair in the food. When I told the waitress about the hair, she went to get to owner (and cook). He was very disrespectful. He said that stuff like that happens and he left. I couldn't believe the way he treated me and my husband. The waitress was more ashamed than the owner! As soon as we left the restaurant my husband threw up the little food we were able to it. I would NEVER go back. DON'T recommend it!!!
