Imitation is the best form of flattery. It seems there are alot of small burger places trying to profit off the whataburger reputation.....if they dont have the orange a frame buildings chances are it is not a real whataburger and you may get bamboozeled....but if you are lucky enough to happen upon a real whatabuger you will know by all the smiling faces in the restaurant....In Florida we have the real thing...

The FAKE WHATABURGER. I am sorry to break the news to you all but there is no orange and white WHATABURGER with the "A-frame" structure located any where in South Carolina. The REAL WHATABURGER was started in in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950. I used to live in Columbia and I was at first super excited that my childhood favorite restaurant that I enjoyed so much in Texas was also in South Carolina, but in fact I was bamboozled. The nearest WHATABURGERS to South Carolina are in Georgia and Florida. WHATABURGERS stretch from Georgia to Arizona. I have not eaten at the What A Burger in West Columbia, but I bet the FAKE What A Burger has nothing on the REAL orange and white WHATABURGER. If you get a chance go to either Georgia or Florida or whatever REAL WHATABURGER is near and taste the goodness. And if you don't believe me go to the REAL WHATABURGER'S website.

Family-friendly hamburger chain with fair prices, accommodating services and 1950s flair.. In Short
This chain restaurant's orange-and-white A-frame buildings dot the Southern coast, from Florida to Arizona. What's made Whataburger grow since its first burger stand opened in 1950 is its commitment to custom orders--the restaurant is happy to fill special requests, as promised in the motto "Just as you like it." The signature five-inch patties and buns--an inch larger than most other chains--have also hooked loyalists to their burgers and chicken sandwiches.

THE BEST BURGERS AND FRIES ANYWHERE!!!. I have been eating at Whataburger since I was a young child. It has been one of my favorite spots in the West Columbia and Columbia area. THE BEST BURGERS AND FRIES ANYWHERE! Everyone needs to experience their many different ways to eat a burger. They offer other items as well, like shakes, chicken, hot dogs....it is all good eating...Fast too!
