The Blue Marlin: Affordable dining with finesse. Eating at The Blue Marlin was the most pleasurable dining experience I've had since moving to Columbia. The food was excellently prepared, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance of the restaurant was superb. The menu seemed to feature a diversified catalog of options; although I only tried the seafood aspect, I have complete confidence that the steaks and other menu options were phenomenal as well. The location of the restaurant is well-situated; I think the Gervais St. district of Columbia is the most pleasant district of downtown. There's plenty of parking close-by the restaurant, which makes it accessible to everyone. So, I would wholeheartedly recomment The Blue Marlin to anybody who's looking for a uniquely pleasant dining experience at a relatively affordable cost.
Best Seafood in the South.
My favorite seafood restaurant around!
In a college town with only a few "upscale" restaurant options, Blue Marlin is always a top choice when deciding on a special-occasion dining spot! Although the relatively high prices make this eatery a "once-in-a-while" restaurant, the food, service, and atmosphere provide a dining experience one is unlikely to find anywhere else in The Vista, or the rest of Columbia for that matter.
In fact, your only issue may be deciding what to order! The crabcakes, firecracker shrimp, pimento cheese, and she-crab soup are all promising and delectable appetizers, and you cannot go wrong with the "Award Winning" Shrimp and Grits. Even if you aren't the biggest seafood fan, there are various other options, including the Portabella Mushroom Ravioli.
If you are a local resident, or just stopping in for a quick visit to the Capital City, I highly suggest making it to Lincoln Street in the Vista to try out Columbia's finest seafood experience.
